Operation Guide

 

 Pre-Operation Inspection
Before connecting the trailer to the traction vehicle and starting operation, conduct a comprehensive inspection to eliminate potential safety hazards and ensure normal operation, which is in line with the safety operation specifications of curtain side semi-trailers:

  1. Structure & Side Curtain System: Check the carriage frame for deformation, cracks or wear; inspect the side curtain for tears, damage or looseness, and check the buckles and straps for firmness; confirm the sliding columns can be lifted and moved flexibly, and the limit device is working normally; check the liftable roof (if equipped) for smooth lifting and lowering, and the locking device is reliable; inspect the inner bottom plate for damage, and the pallet fixing device for integrity.
  2. Chassis & Axles: Check the tire pressure and wear condition of all tires, ensure wheel nuts are fastened; inspect the axles, bearings and suspension system for abnormal noise or looseness; check the brake system, including brake pads, brake drums and brake pipelines, to ensure braking performance is normal; confirm the traction pin and traction saddle are clean and free of wear, and the connection is reliable; check the support legs for stable landing and flexible lifting.
  3. Electrical & Safety Equipment: Test the warning lights, reflective signs and rear lights to ensure they work normally; check the safety lock of the side curtain, the safety switch of the sliding columns and other safety devices for normal operation; confirm the ABS system is working normally, and there is no fault alarm; if equipped with a tailboard, check the tailboard installation is firm, and the lifting and lowering functions are normal, and confirm the tailboard installation qualification certificate is complete.
  4. Auxiliary Equipment: Check the toolbox for complete tools; inspect the lighting device in the carriage for normal operation; check the side curtain maintenance zipper for smooth opening and closing, and repair or replace the damaged side curtain in time.

 

Connection with Traction Vehicle

  1. Drive the traction vehicle to the front of the trailer, keep the traction vehicle and trailer in a straight line, and slowly approach the trailer until the traction pin of the trailer is aligned with the traction saddle of the traction vehicle.
  2. Lower the traction saddle of the traction vehicle, make the traction pin insert into the traction saddle, and lock the traction saddle locking device; check to confirm the locking is reliable, and there is no looseness.
  3. Connect the air circuit and circuit connectors between the traction vehicle and the trailer, and test the trailer's brakes, lights and warning devices to ensure they work normally; if the trailer is equipped with a tailboard, connect the tailboard power supply and test the lifting and lowering functions to ensure they are normal.
  4. Check the overall connection status, confirm the trailer is stable, and there is no tilting or looseness; retract the support legs of the trailer, remove the wheel blocks under the trailer's wheels, and confirm the surrounding environment is safe, without obstacles.

 

Loading & Transportation Operation

  1. Loading Operation: Drive the connected traction vehicle and trailer to the loading area, park the vehicle on a flat and solid ground, and pull the parking brake tightly; lower the support legs of the trailer to make the trailer stable; open the side curtain (manual or electric control) and lift the sliding columns to the appropriate height, and lift the roof (if equipped) if necessary; load the goods into the carriage evenly, place the palletized goods in the correct position, and use the pallet fixing device to fix the goods firmly, avoiding uneven loading or overloading; the loading height and weight shall not exceed the limit of the trailer, and the goods shall not be placed against the side curtain to prevent the curtain from being damaged; after loading, close the side curtain tightly, fasten the buckles and straps, and reset the sliding columns and roof (if equipped).
  2. Transportation Operation: Before starting, confirm the side curtain is tightly locked, the sliding columns and roof (if equipped) are reset, the goods are fixed firmly, and all safety devices are working normally; start the traction vehicle, and drive smoothly, avoiding violent acceleration, harsh braking and sharp turns, especially when transporting fragile goods, to prevent the goods from shifting and being damaged.
  3. During transportation, maintain a stable speed: the maximum speed on highways shall not exceed 90km/h, and the speed on ordinary roads and urban roads shall be controlled within 40–60km/h; when driving on bumpy roads, reduce the speed appropriately to reduce the impact on the trailer chassis and goods; pay attention to the road conditions, avoid potholes and obstacles, and prevent damage to the trailer and goods.
  4. During long-distance transportation, stop regularly to inspect the trailer: check the traction connection status, tire pressure, brake system and side curtain tightness; check the goods fixing status, and re-fasten the straps if necessary; if equipped with a tailboard, check the tailboard connection status and power supply; do not open the side curtain during transportation, to avoid goods falling or being polluted.

 

Unloading Operation

  1. Drive the traction vehicle and trailer to a flat, solid and open unloading area, ensure the ground can bear the weight of the full-load trailer, and there are no personnel, obstacles or fragile goods around the unloading area; pull the parking brake tightly, lower the support legs of the trailer to make the trailer stable, and place wheel blocks under the trailer's wheels to prevent the vehicle from sliding.
  2. Confirm the surrounding environment is safe, then open the side curtain (manual or electric control) and lift the sliding columns to the appropriate height, and lift the roof (if equipped) if necessary; if equipped with a tailboard, turn on the tailboard power supply and adjust the tailboard to the appropriate height to facilitate unloading.
  3. Unload the goods in order, avoid violent handling to prevent goods damage; when unloading heavy goods, use professional lifting equipment, and do not stand under the goods or beside the sliding columns to ensure operation safety; during unloading, check the inner bottom plate and side curtain for damage, and deal with it in time if any problem is found.
  4. After unloading is completed, clean the inner wall of the carriage, remove the residual goods and sundries; reset the sliding columns and roof (if equipped), close the side curtain tightly, and fasten the buckles and straps; if equipped with a tailboard, retract the tailboard and turn off the power supply.
  5. Remove the wheel blocks, retract the support legs of the trailer, check the trailer's structure, side curtain and chassis for abnormalities before leaving the unloading area.

 

Post-Operation Maintenance

  1. After the operation is completed, park the trailer in a dry, ventilated and flat area, disconnect the connection with the traction vehicle, lower the support legs, and place wheel blocks under the trailer's wheels; clean the carriage, remove the residual goods and sundries on the inner wall, and wipe the side curtain with a clean cloth to remove dust and stains, avoiding the use of corrosive cleaning agents.
  2. Maintain the side curtain system: inspect the side curtain for tears, wear or aging, and repair or replace it in time; check the buckles and straps for wear, and replace the damaged ones; apply lubricating oil to the sliding columns and their connecting parts to ensure flexible lifting and moving; check the liftable roof (if equipped) for smooth operation, and add lubricating oil to the lifting mechanism.
  3. Maintain the chassis and axles: check the tire pressure and wear condition, replace worn tires in time; tighten loose wheel nuts and chassis bolts; add lubricating oil to the axles and bearings; check the brake system, replace worn brake pads and brake drums, and adjust the brake shoe gap; check the support legs for flexible lifting and stable landing, and add lubricating oil to the support leg mechanism.
  4. Regular maintenance: According to the vehicle manual, carry out regular maintenance every 6000–12000 kilometers or 4–6 months; check the carriage frame for deformation or corrosion, and repair or reinforce it in time; replace the wearing parts of the side curtain system and brake system; inspect the traction pin and traction saddle for wear, and apply lubricating oil regularly; conduct a comprehensive inspection of the safety devices and auxiliary equipment to ensure they work normally; if equipped with a tailboard, maintain the tailboard according to the installation requirements and relevant standards.
  5. If the trailer is not used for a long time, park it in a covered area, cover the side curtain and carriage to avoid dust and corrosion; check the side curtain regularly to prevent aging and damage; recharge the storage battery (if equipped) regularly, and drain the accumulated water in the brake system if necessary (especially in low-temperature areas).
