Dump semi-trailers utilize a hydraulic system to operate the cargo bed for autonomous unloading, primarily employing either side-tipping or rear-tipping methods. Featuring cargo beds constructed using welded manganese steel plates and equipped with non-independent, stamped-steel rigid suspension systems, these trailers can unload bulk materials-such as sand, gravel, and coal-within 30 seconds to two minutes, achieving lower residual material rates than traditional models.

Under new policies taking effect in 2025, weight limits are set at 36 tons for four-axle vehicles and 49 tons for six-axle vehicles; this has driven the development of lightweight designs and rear-tipping models equipped with tarpaulin covers. Leading market brands include CIMC Huajun, Minxing Auto, and Xinjinjun, offering models ranging from 9.5 to 13 meters in length to suit short-haul transport and infrastructure construction applications.
