Operation Guide
Pre-Operation Inspection
Perform a comprehensive pre-start inspection of the Caterpillar excavator before commencing work to ensure stable mechanical performance and operational safety:
- Power & Liquid Inspection: Check engine oil, coolant and diesel levels to ensure they are within the standard range; inspect oil pipelines and hydraulic pipelines for leakage, aging and blockage.
- Chassis & Track Inspection: Check rubber track tension and wear status; inspect chassis rollers, idlers and driving wheels for jamming and abnormal wear; clean track sundries.
- Working Device Inspection: Check boom, stick and bucket for deformation and crack; confirm bucket teeth and connecting pins are firm; test the flexible operation of each hydraulic action.
- Safety & Electrical Inspection: Test emergency stop function, working lights and instrument display; check bulldozer blade telescopic and lifting functions for normal operation.
Standard Starting & Warm-Up Operation
- Park the excavator on flat and solid ground, lower the bucket and bulldozer blade to touch the ground, and release the operating lever to the neutral position before starting.
- Start the engine and keep idle warm-up for 3–5 minutes in low temperature environment; observe the instrument data to ensure no fault alarm and stable engine operation.
- Test single actions such as boom lifting, stick expansion and contraction, bucket rotation and body rotation after warm-up to confirm smooth hydraulic operation without abnormal noise.
Construction Operation Specifications
- Excavation Operation: Keep the vehicle body stable, use the bulldozer blade to assist in fixing the body during slope and deep excavation; adopt layered excavation to avoid overloading the bucket and violent digging, preventing arm body deformation and hydraulic system damage.
- Narrow Space Operation: Make full use of zero-tail swing performance, control rotation speed slowly, avoid collision with surrounding buildings and obstacles; adjust track width according to site space to ensure flexible passing.
- Leveling & Backfilling: Cooperate with the bulldozer blade and bucket for fine leveling and trench backfilling, maintain uniform operation speed to ensure flat construction effect.
- Multi-Attachment Operation: Replace breakers, grabbers and other accessories strictly in accordance with specifications; adjust hydraulic flow parameters to match different working tools and avoid overload operation.
Travel & Transfer Precautions
- Retract the working arm and lower the bucket close to the ground during walking, keep the body center of gravity stable, and avoid high-speed walking and sharp turning.
- Slow down when passing slopes, uneven roads and soft ground; avoid long-distance rapid driving to reduce track wear and chassis loss.
- Fix the machine firmly with professional tools during long-distance transportation and transfer to avoid sliding and collision damage.
Shutdown & Daily Maintenance
- Standard Shutdown: Park the machine on flat ground, lower all working devices to the ground, turn off the engine after 1–2 minutes of idle cooling, and cut off the power supply.
- Daily Maintenance: Clean soil and sundries on tracks and chassis after operation; check pipeline tightness and liquid level status; lubricate connecting pins and rotating parts regularly.
- Regular Maintenance: Replace engine oil, filter elements and hydraulic oil regularly according to the official cycle; inspect hydraulic system pressure and track wear; repair and replace worn bucket teeth and vulnerable parts in time.
- Long-Term Storage: Clean the whole machine thoroughly, perform anti-rust treatment on metal parts, park in a dry and ventilated environment, and start the machine regularly for idle operation to avoid component aging.
